When fitting empirically, how is the first lens selected?

The empirical fitting calculator selects the GP base curve that is most closely aligned with the flattest K and the Flat skirt curve.
When fitting Duette Multifocal the calculator selects the small zone for the right eye (or dominant eye if specified) and the large zone for the other eye.
